Getting around Prato city centre
Walking The historic centre is entirely walkable. Castello dell’Imperatore to the Duomo to Piazza Mercatale is about 10 min on foot. Most hotels, restaurants, and bars are within this area.
ZTL — Restricted Traffic Zone Prato’s historic centre has a ZTL (Zona Traffico Limitato) — driving in without a permit results in automatic fines. Check with your hotel. Most accommodation is outside the ZTL or provides permits.
City buses LAM Blu and LAM Rossa connect the station to the centre and outskirts. Buy tickets on the AT Bus app or at tabacchi (tobacco shops).
